Ursa Major was founded to address a critical shortfall in the U.S. industrial base and bring a new model to aerospace and defense systems: we design and manufacture the world’s leading propulsion systems for space, hypersonic applications, and missile systems.
Our products and technologies require an extraordinary team – a team that will mold tomorrow’s technologies while deploying today’s best. We are an intrinsically motivated team that has a passion for solving problems and empowering each other every day to develop our skills, knowing that there is always room for growth.
As a Senior Advanced Programs Design Engineer, you will be a key member of a small and talented team working as a startup within a startup. Our goal is to disrupt and accelerate our core business by delivering product enabling technologies and launching new product lines. In short, we provide product optionality to the business leadership team. This role will be part of the Advanced Programs Group within the CTO organization and reporting to the Manager of Advanced Programs.
Ursa Major’s teams move fast and do a lot with little. We are looking for a skilled, fast-learning individual who will own projects from concept design through prototyping and testing. Most project scopes will be aimed at demonstrating a proof-of-concept to internal Ursa stakeholders within a compressed schedule. While typical project scopes should last between 3 months to 1 year, some projects may be extended in support of key customers and/or as a stop-gap measure while the project is transferred to an Integrated Product Team within the business.
