Marketing Specialist

Berthoud, Colorado

The future of aerospace and defense starts here.

Ursa Major was founded to revolutionize how America and its allies access and apply high-performance propulsion, from hypersonics to solid rocket motors, satellite maneuvering and launch. We design and deliver propulsion and defense systems that solve the most urgent and critical national security demands.

As a Marketing Specialist, you will support the execution of high-impact marketing, content creation, and event initiatives that strengthen Ursa Major’s brand, support business growth, and help tell the story of American aerospace and defense innovation.

Reporting to the Marketing & Social Media Manager, this role will be a hands-on contributor across visual content, video editing, graphic design, digital marketing, tradeshow execution, branded materials, and day-to-day marketing operations.

The ideal candidate is a creative, detail-oriented marketer with strong design instincts, a passion for visual storytelling, and the ability to support multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

This candidate should be comfortable jumping in wherever needed — from designing graphics and editing videos to preparing event materials, setting up tradeshow booths, supporting hosted events, and engaging professionally with customers, partners, employees, and visitors. Social media experience is not required, but strong creative judgment, comfort interacting with people, and enthusiasm for supporting events and campaigns are essential.

Responsibilities

  • Support the creation and production of multimedia marketing content, including graphics, videos, presentations, digital assets, print materials, event collateral, and other branded content.
  • Design and edit marketing materials using Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, and other creative tools while ensuring alignment with Ursa Major’s brand standards.
  • Assist with video editing, motion graphics, image selection, layouts, formatting, and creative asset preparation for campaigns, events, internal communications, social media, and sales/business development needs.
  • Support the Marketing & Social Media Manager with content calendar execution, asset organization, campaign preparation, and creative production workflows.
  • Help prepare, organize, and maintain marketing assets, including photo and video libraries, templates, graphics, tradeshow materials, promotional items, and printed collateral.
  • Provide hands-on support for tradeshows, industry events, hosted customer events, employee events, and company activations.
  • Assist with event logistics, including packing and shipping materials, booth setup and teardown, signage, collateral preparation, vendor coordination, registration support, and onsite staffing.
  • Represent Ursa Major professionally at events by engaging with attendees, answering general company questions, directing visitors to appropriate team members, and helping create a polished brand experience.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders across marketing, communications, business development, people operations, and technical teams to support creative and event-related requests.
  • Support the development of presentations, internal communications materials, recruitment marketing assets, executive communications visuals, and other company storytelling needs.
  • Help track project status, deadlines, deliverables, and creative requests to ensure marketing work is completed accurately and on time.
  • Assist with vendor coordination, print production, merchandise ordering, and invoice or purchase request support as needed.
  • Maintain a high brand standard of quality, accuracy, consistency, and attention to detail across all marketing deliverables.

Required Qualifications

  • Approximately 3-5 years of professional experience in marketing, design, content production, communications, events, or a related field.
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, graphic design, digital media, business, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Strong working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, including tools such as Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere Pro, After Effects, or similar programs.
  • Experience using Canva and other creative production tools to develop polished, on-brand marketing assets.
  • Proven experience incorporating AI into content creation and workflows in a strategic, secure, and brand-compliant manner.
  • Strong visual design instincts, with an eye for layout, typography, imagery, brand consistency, and storytelling.
  • Experience creating or supporting video, graphic, presentation, print, or digital content.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and details at once.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills and comfort interacting with employees, customers, partners, vendors, and event attendees.
  • Willingness and ability to travel for tradeshows, industry events, hosted events, and other company needs.
  • Willingness and ability to support physical event setup and teardown, including lifting, carrying, moving, and assembling event materials up to 50 pounds.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment with shifting priorities.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate, professional, high-quality work.

Preferred Experience / Skills

  • Experience supporting tradeshows, conferences, customer events, recruiting events, or corporate activations.
  • Experience in B2B, B2G, aerospace, defense, advanced manufacturing, technology, or another technical industry.
  • Experience with WordPress, basic CMS updates, email marketing platforms, social publishing tools, or marketing project management tools.
  • Basic photography, videography, or onsite content capture experience.
  • Experience preparing files for print production and working with print vendors.
  • Portfolio or work samples demonstrating graphic design, video editing, presentation design, campaign assets, or other creative marketing work.

Working Conditions / Physical Demands

  • Ability to travel periodically for company events, tradeshows, and industry engagements.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods during events.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, pull, and move event materials, booth components, collateral, and equipment up to 50 pounds.
